Nature of case
This case concerned the sale of a compression facility for use by an oil company on a floating production unit in the North Sea. The court had to determine whether the equipment designed, constructed and installed by the defendant was defective and dangerous so as to cause damage to the equipment. The court also addressed a number of preliminary contractual issues.
