From time to time Keating Chambers formally invites applications for tenancy from established practitioners.  These vacancies will be advertised on this website and elsewhere.

Chambers is always willing to consider expressions of interest for tenancy (subject to any decision to advertise prior to considering the application) from established KCs and junior barristers who have a developing or established practice including one or more of the following practice areas:

  • Construction & Engineering
  • Energy & Natural Resources
  • International Arbitration
  • Public Procurement
  • IT & Technology
  • Professional Negligence

Applications, which should include the business case for the application and be accompanied by a CV, should be made to the Head of Chambers, currently Alexander Nissen KC (anissen@keatingchambers.com).

Applications will be judged against the following criteria:

  • Compatibility with Chambers needs, and particularly the business case for the recruitment of the applicant (the candidate’s plan and/or ability to build a long-term practice in Chambers; synergies with and commitment to one or more of Chambers’ present or aspirational areas of expertise; the contribution that the candidate’s skills and expertise can make to the benefit of both the candidate and Chambers; and the candidate’s anticipated workstream and earnings).
  • Intellectual ability
  • Ability to work to work effectively with others (including commitment to diversity and equality in all professional dealings)
  • Oral advocacy
  • Written advocacy

The process for receiving and actioning requests will be kept be separate from the recruitment process and without the knowledge of the shortlist or interview panel.
