Infrastructure

The national and international transport networks and systems for the generation and delivery of power, water and other basic services have required some of the world’s biggest projects.  These may be publically or privately financed, domestic or international, and governed by standard form contract such as FIDIC or by bespoke agreements.  However, they usually involve consideration of a multiplicity of parties or complex technical issues and which are suited to the specialist expertise held by the members at Keating.

Terrestrial subject matter includes disputes relating to overground and underground railways, service suppliers, roads and airports. Marine-related construction disputes have dealt with construction of flood defences, dredging contracts and sub-sea installation.

Members of chambers are regularly instructed on matters pertaining to the contentious and non-contentious aspects of such infrastructural agreements, both in litigation and international arbitration, and include appointment to the various panels in the resolution of these specialist disputes.
