Acts for developers in Environment Protection Act matters, including prosecutions relating to remediation of brownfield land, waste disposal and under the Property Misdescriptions Act.
Experience of negotiation with, and submissions to, the Environment Agency in order to avoid threatened prosecution.
Advised on process industry compliance with permit requirements.
Advising in several disputes arising out of energy recovery and leachate treatment plants, with claims ranging from £200,000 to £2,600,000.
Junior Counsel in £85m dispute relating to the design and construction of a secondary treatment plant.

In the past few decades, law pertaining to the environment, and its protection, has increasingly been in vogue. This has been promoted by an improved awareness of the need to protect and by the increase in legislation in this area, resulting in more and varied forms of regulatory proceedings.

Members of Keating Chambers provide advice and representation throughout the spectrum of such environmental matters and, in particular, that impacting on the construction industry - whether at the large scale development or on the homeowner.

Areas of specialism include statutory regulation pertaining to, for example, noise and waste, nuisance, prosecutions under the Building Act and Building Regulations, the Environmental Protection Act, and the Water Resources Act.
